"Opening of School September 1954"

A review of Rising Brook High School by Jacinth Vaughan (nee Lowndes) written on Tuesday 30th of May 2023

My name was Jacinth Lowndes and I started school when it changed from Primary to Secondary school the first year we had only just over 100 pupils the 11year olds from Rising Brook and Flash Lea Mr Rogers Head and Miss Mills Deputy. The new school was built around us and has it was completed we helped to unpack books and other equipment into the departments . I had many happy times at school taking part in the choir and fashion shows wearing clothes we had made in needlework class . I remember Mr Hall very well he took us for English and History and that he played jazz records to us. I moved away from Stafford in 1965 and know live in Suffolk.
